Dumfries & Galloway Council has appointed Galliford Try Digital Infrastructure by to lead the design and preconstruction phase for a programme of new 鈥楳obility Hubs鈥� across the region, with electric vehicle (EV) charging points and bicycle racks.
The project has been awarded through the Crown Commercial Service鈥檚 construction works and associated services framework and marks a key step forward in the Galliford Try鈥檚 strategy to expand into EV charging.
The new hubs are designed to encourage local residents to switch to electric cars or even bikes. The plans is that they will have rapid and dual EV charging bays, smart-enabled bike and e-bike storage, a car sharing club, cycle repair facilities, and a 鈥榗ommunity space鈥� with real-time journey information.
