Wokingham Borough Council鈥檚 main contractor, Francis Construction, has broken ground on Bohunt Wokingham Sixth (BW6), which will provide 300 places for sixth form students at Bohunt School in in Arborfield Green, Berkshire.
The project is jointly funded by Wokingham Borough Council and the Bohunt Education Trust. The scheme was budgeted at 拢4.5m in March 2022 but had leapt to 拢10.5m by July 2023.
Francis Construction鈥檚 contract, for a steel framed structure on pad foundations, glazing and brickwork to the fa莽ade and internal finishing and MEP services throughout, is valued at 拢6.2m.
A ground breaking event on Thursday 10th July was attended by council representatives, school staff and pupils, and the contracting team.
