Cardo wins £8m Caredig deal

3 Oct Welsh social landlord Caredig has appointed maintenance contractor Cardo to maintain its housing stock.

Cardo has been appointed by Caredig to deliver maintenance works, scheduled upgrades, major works in empty homes, routine repairs, and out-of-hours emergencies across more than 2,800 homes in Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, and Neath and Port Talbot.

The contract, worth up to 拢8m, will run for an initial two years, with an option to extend for a further two years.

Caredig, which means 鈥榢ind鈥 in Welsh, is a nonprofit registered social landlord based in Swansea.

Head of assets & compliance Stuart Thomas, at Caredig said: 鈥淲e are delighted to appoint Cardo as our trusted partner for these vital works. Their expertise and collaborative approach will help us maintain safe, comfortable homes and deliver excellent service to our tenants.鈥

Cardo, formed out of a private equity move into 聽LCB Group in 2023, established its Welsh presence by acquiring Cardiff-based A&N Lewis in April 2024.
