By combining modern technology with long established and traditional lime based building products, Lime Technology has grown into the largest and most respected organisation of its kind.

Ian has written numerous articles and papers on the use of lime and sustainable masonry in both historic and modern buildings.

Ian is a respected authority on the subject of lime and lectures widely on the subject as well as putting this into mainstream commercial practice.

Awards

Lime Technology's achievements have been recognised in a number of industry awards.

This includes two short lists at the Grand Design Awards 2006: one for Hemcrete, the companyâ€™s highly sustainable cast in situ hemp-lime walling; and the other for Sumatec, the companyâ€™s range of compressed earth and chalk blocks.

Elsewhere Lime Technologyâ€™s commitment to protecting the environment has been recognised with a short listing in the Sustainability Innovation Category for the Sustainability Awards 2006, organised by Building magazine.

In 2005, the company was announced as joint winner of the Green Shoots Award - a competition for environmentally-focused start-up companies. In the same year, The National Trustâ€™s new Headquarters, featuring Lime Technologyâ€™s Limetec hydraulic lime mortar, won best commercial building at the Brick Awards. The project has since gone on to win a RIBA award and a British Council for Offices award as well as being short listed at The Building Services Awards.

In 2006, three projects that specified Lime Technologyâ€™s Limetec hydraulic lime mortar have been short listed for Brick Awards, including the regeneration of St Pancras station, a private house in Essex and a sports pavilion at Oxford University.
