The company was established in 1920 and had a track record working for high profile retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury鈥檚 and Waitrose.
According to the directors, the company had suffered a sustained period of difficult trading in which margins had been increasingly depressed by its clients in the retail sector.
The company had previously announced that job losses were likely among the 43-strong workforce.
The aluminium cladding operation of S Dudley & Sons, which was established in 1993 and employs 42 staff, is a separate stand-alone company called Dudley鈥檚 Aluminium Limited. Peter Dewey and David Hill, partners at at the Cardiff office of insolvency firm Begbies Traynor, have been appointed administrators of S Dudley & Sons.
Peter Dewey said: 鈥淪 Dudley & Sons Limited is yet another victim of the continuing difficulties in the construction sector.鈥�
