Sisk to buy Farrans from CRH

1 Sep John Sisk & Son has agreed a deal to acquire Farrans Construction.

Two of Ireland鈥檚 biggest construction companies, Sisk from the republic and Farrans from North Ireland, are set to combine.

John Sisk & Son has agreed a deal with materials giant CRH to take contracting business Farrans Construction off its hands. The price has not been disclosed.

CRH has had Farrans up for sale since December 2022.

The sale, which remains subject to regulatory approval, is expected to see all 625 Farrans employees moving to Sisk.聽Sisk said that the Farrans business will continue to trade under its own brand and all project operations will continue as normal.

Farrans Construction turned over 拢512m in the year to December 2023. John Sisk's UK turnover was 拢475m in the year to August 2024, while Irish parent Sisk Group turned over 鈧2.5bn (拢2.2bn).
