Chinese manufacturer Sunward has signed up Watson & Hillhouse to support its new piling and foundation equipment business unit.
Ipswich-based Watson & Hillhouse is now the exclusive dealer for Sunward piling and foundation equipment in the UK and Ireland.
The hook-up is described as a significant milestone for both Sunward and Watson & Hillhouse, which has a fleet of piling and foundation equipment worth more than 拢12m and operates what it says is the UK鈥檚 only 鈥榓bsolute refusal鈥� piling equipment test bed. This is used to determine the suitability of any piece of piling plant for a particular application, and for testing every item of equipment before it is supplied to their customers.
Sunward鈥檚 foundation equipment business unit, formed last year, offers nine models tailored specifically for the European market, including the SWDM 85SW, SWDM 135S and SWDM 165S rotary drilling rigs ranging from 27 to 47 tonnes and the new SWDM 165S continuous flight auger (CFA) drilling rig, which Watson & Hillhouse will be offering for hire or sale.
