Job Description
Amazing opportunity to work on an interesting heavy civil engineering scheme! Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to take the lead on a major heavy civil infrastructure project in the UK. The role involves managing on-site construction activities, ensuring delivery aligns with project requirements, health and safety protocols, and quality standards. Key Duties & Responsibilities Lead and supervise all on-site activities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety regulations. Leverage deep expertise in heavy civil and marine construction to support effective site operations. Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders for smooth project execution. Engage with client representatives and contractors to resolve site-related issues promptly. Monitor project progress and maintain accurate site records and reports. Review and manage RAMS, inspection and test plans, material submissions, and relevant technical documents. Support the development of junior engineers and promote effective knowledge transfer. Act as an ambassador of company values and professionalism on site. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline preferred. Chartered Engineer or working toward Chartership (desirable). Experience in civil, marine, or infrastructure construction. Proven leadership in managing large, multidisciplinary construction teams. Familiar with UK construction legislation, standards, and best practices. Core Competencies & Skills Strong knowledge of health & safety and quality assurance procedures. Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and using AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and surveying tools. Practical experience with earthworks, piling, reinforced concrete, structural steel, utilities, and marine infrastructure. Proficient in construction documentation, control, and reporting systems. Understanding of mechanical and electrical interface coordination is advantageous. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Meticulous attention to detail, adaptable and proactive in a fast-paced environment. Personal Attributes Integrity and commitment to high professional standards. Additional Requirements Must adhere to strict site safety and security procedures. Completion of all required inductions and project-specific training.
